Sustainability Club

Welcome to Skyline High School's Sustainability Club. We are a group of students located in Sammamish, WA. We meet every other Mondays from 3-3:30 pm in Room 2115.

Our Aim

As a club, we plan to reduce wastefulness by upcycling common items that would normally go to waste and reutilizing them for personal use. Additionally, we educate our school community on sustainable practices and environmental harms, and advocate on contemporary topics surrounding human impacts on our Earth.

Meet the Board

President/Co-Founder

Luciana Calle

My name is Luciana and I am current senior at Skyline High School. My favorite subject is biology and I enjoy creating digital art in my downtime! I founded this club with the goal to bring more awareness on the significance of sustainability to the Skyline community and create a space where students can meet and make effective changes in our community. I believe that there is no better time than now to start implementing change as global warming is increasingly becoming problematic and poses a threat to the abundant wildlife and forests we have throughout the Pacific Northwest. We are so excited for what this school year will bring!

Anushna Gunda

My name is Anushna and I am currently a senior at Skyline High School. I volunteered at the Seattle Aquarium where I was able to learn a lot about marine conservation and harsh realities of animal welfare which inspired me to start a club. I’m your other co-founder of Sustainability Club with the goal to advocate for conservation through presentations and guest speakers. We, teens, have immense power to create, design and implement change, starting from local organizations to reaching out to big companies. Which is why, I’m super pumped for all activities we have planned for Sustainability Club!

Jyotika Pathath

Hi! My name is Jyotika and I am the VP of Sustainability Club. Some things I enjoy doing is dancing, going to the beach and watching the show modern family. I joined this board to better implement more sustainable choices in my life and work with people who are interested in helping the survival of our wildlife. This summer I got a chance to be a part of the Youth Oceans Advocates team and learn a lot more about ocean life and ways to better the Earth from the damage that we have already caused. This inspired me to join a club that uses these morals to save our Earth and be better human beings!

Anjali Alwar

Hi, my name is Anjali Alwar and I will be your secretary this year. I am currently a junior and I love to step out of my comfort zone and try new things. I am super excited to spread the awareness of sustainability by doing fun activities and projects with you this year! I believe sustainability is not only important to know about but critical in conserving earth, and this club is the perfect place for that.

Rohan Muppa

I am 17 years old and a junior at Skyline High School. I like to help the world, one cause at a time. When I was a kid, my parents always taught me about the environment and how we could all do our part to protect it. Sustainable water is my focus, and I've made it my goal to promote the importance of conserving water while also ensuring that everyone has access to fresh, clean sources of it.

My name is Aryan and I like to code and make video games. The reason I joined this club is that I realized after seeing the pollution back in New Jersey that we have only ONE earth, so we must protect it.
